Autumn/Winter 2022 – The top 4 trends to add to your wardrobe this season

With the cooler months finally upon us, women Australia wide are rejoicing in the prospect of being able to layer and dust off our favourite winter pieces from seasons gone by. This year however, fashion forecasters are predicting that our wardrobes will be a little more colourful and significantly more ‘curated’ than years gone by.

Dopamine Dressing

What is dopamine dressing you ask? It’s fashions embodiment of using colour and style to enhance your mood! Signalling the end of some very harsh years across the globe, fashion is taking this opportunity to welcome this season change with bright colour and prints.

This trend is all about dressing with the intention of boosting your mood. Think bold colours, styles and textures that edge you toward the end of your comfort zone.

TIP: Keep an eye out for drops from Daisy Says, Runaway the label and Charlie Holiday to cure your need for colour this season.

Puffy Sleeves

Continuing into Winter 2022 is the dramatic flair of the ‘puffy sleeve’ trend. The addition of a sleeve detail can elevate an entire look and when executed correctly will complement your wardrobe for seasons to come.

TIP: The April/May Mink Pink collection this year nails this trend. Pairing the puff sleeve with warm chocolate and beige tones and patterns, this collection is a must try for any upcoming winter occasion.

The blazer has been a winter staple for seasons due to the styles versatility and ability to ‘dress up’ any given outfit with ease. Our styling forecast this season is to ensure you have a classic black oversized style on hand, a neutral tailored style and if you’d like a little pattern in your life we highly recommend picking up a checked or ‘plaid’ style to kick up any plain coloured fit.

TIP: We recommend our Jorge the label and Slide show styles which have already begun to land in store!

Cut Outs

The cut out trend has been re created and re mastered more times than any Australian woman can count, however this seasons variation comes ready to be paired and styled with your favourite winter pieces. This season, cut outs are predicted to be significantly smaller and more delicate in nature than seasons past with an emphasis on detail rather than skin baring. Pair new season cut out styles with your favourite blazer to level out the trend with wear ability.

TIP: Mink Pink does it again! The June/July collection utilises this trend with their renowned feminine fabrications and prints to bring us an all round trans-seasonal drop that is both practical for Australian winter and reminiscent of a European runway.
